Glasshouse Mountains Bathroom Renovation

It’s common for older homes to have separate spaces for the bathroom, toilet and linen cupboard. But there are often better layouts that more effectively use the available space, like with this bathroom renovation we completed in the Glasshouse Mountains.

This bathroom project involved consolidating a separate toilet, bathroom and linen cupboard to create a larger, more spacious bathroom.

Mike Briggs and his family, who live in the Queenslander home, wanted an affordable bathroom renovation that didn’t involve significant plumbing changes.

The must-haves were a family-size shower, large feature wall and a shower niche for a more contemporary look.

Filled with natural light

Once our team had demolished the dividing walls, Dani walked through the space with the client and mapped out some options for the new layout.

“A game-changer for this bathroom renovation was replacing two existing smaller windows with a nice big window to open it up and fill the room with natural light,” said Dani.

The client had specially selected three tile designs: a white square tile for the wall, slate look large format tiles for the floor, and ripple-effect tiles for a gentle, flowing feature wall in the shower.

In keeping with the client’s tight budget, off-the-shelf cabinetry, fixtures and fittings were purchased by the client and installed by the Farmer Constructions team. A half glass screen completes the overall look.
