Can you provide a quote based on plans from my architect or designer?
Absolutely. We can quote on any project where the plans have been drawn up by your architect or designer, ensuring all main specifications are included.
Do you offer fixed price contracts?
Yes, we provide fixed price contracts for our Gold Coast home renovations. Any unexpected issues are discussed with you to find the best possible resolution.
Do you offer any guarantees or warranties?
Farmer Constructions is licensed by the QBCC, ensuring confidence that any issues will be addressed.
- Structural Defective Work: Complaints can be submitted within 6 years and 6 months from the completion date and within 12 months of noticing the defect.
- Non-structural Defective Work: A 6 to 12-month statutory warranty is provided for non-structural defects from the date of practical completion. Defects noticed within this period should be reported in writing for resolution. Complaints can also be submitted to the QBCC within 12 months of noticing the defect.
How does Home Warranty Insurance work?
Home Warranty Insurance is arranged through the QBCC for all projects valued over $3,300. This provides coverage and peace of mind during your renovation. We also have builder’s insurance to cover us while we work on-site. For more details, visit the QBCC website.
Do you handle council approvals and inspections?
Yes, we manage all council approvals and inspections, ensuring a smooth and stress-free process for you. We work with a certifier to take care of these requirements on your behalf.
Can I stay in my home during the renovation?
This depends on the scope and nature of the work. For some projects, it may not be safe to stay in the home, while for others, it is possible. We will discuss this with you during the quoting stage.
What do PC/PS items mean?
- Prime Cost (PC) Item: An estimated price is provided at the time of quoting. Once you select the specific fitting, the final figure is adjusted accordingly.
- Provisional Sum (PS) Item: A provisional sum is included in the contract to cover work or materials whose extent cannot be detailed at the time of entering the contract.
